An important part of eCDR’s research strategy is to ensure that our work connects with major institutions in Wales and further afield. Collaboration is vital to maximise individual and collective projects to ensure that there is both academic and wider cultural benefits. Developing partnerships that enrich critical and public understanding of national photographic collections and contemporary visual culture is reflected in our current academic links associated with staff and doctoral research programmes. eCDR is a combination of historical and theoretical approaches linked with practice-based research across all of our research strands. Our research connects strongly with teaching and learning across the School of Cultural and Creative Industries and feeds into the cultural lives of national museums, libraries and international art events.
